Project Overview
The Platted project was initiated to solve a common and fragmented user journey—navigating between meal planning, grocery shopping, and recipe discovery apps. The challenge was to build a user-friendly, AI-powered platform that reduces time spent on these tasks, minimizes food waste, and enhances personalization, especially for users with dietary restrictions and tight schedules.
Our Approach
We approached the project by turning advanced technology into an intuitive, everyday experience. Instead of overwhelming users with features, we focused on creating a clean, accessible interface powered by conversational AI. The design emphasized ease of use—clear call-to-actions, personalized interactions through the Chomp chatbot, and engaging elements like gamification to keep users coming back. By combining a modern visual aesthetic with intelligent backend systems, we made the complex feel simple, ensuring the platform felt both smart and relatable.

Fridge Scanner + AR: Scan leftovers to get instant meal ideas.

Logistics APIs: Integration with delivery platforms for 15-min grocery fulfillment.
Accessibility & UX Design: Clean grid layout, rounded cards, bright CTA buttons for a friendly UI.
Key Challenges & Solutions
Food Waste & Poor Planning
Over 30% of groceries went unused due to lack of structured planning.
We introduced a smart "Scan Leftovers" feature and AI-generated weekly meal plans, reducing waste and improving usage of available ingredients.
Low User Retention
Users dropped off due to lack of engagement and personal touch.
